Midterm Essay: Trauma’s “Dual Genealogy”

An Essay on Dual Genealogy Name of the Institution Name of the Student Name of the Course Date Professor The concept of trauma is not new. Trauma has dominated most times of this modern times since many traumatic activities have been witnessed heard or seen such as cases of murder suicide rape genocides coup de tats robbery with violence among others. People who experience trauma are those that may be involved in a rescue mission or have witnessed an accident or been victims of any traumatic activity. The concept of trauma has a dual genealogy. According to Fassin and Retchman the concept of trauma has a dual genealogy because it reveals a close link between the people affected and the trauma itself and thus whenever the trauma justifies the affected person then they argue that that there is dual genealogy. The dual genealogy is based on two areas as the relatives of those who survived traumatic events like the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Finally Retchman and Fassin are emphasizing on the morality of the modern economies. References Abraham S. (2016).
