The target population is the group of adolescents the diversion project is intended to serve. For the adolescent diversion program to remain resolute and to deliver efficient services it has to clearly describe its target populace and establish the mechanism of referral which would ensure it gets the apt cases (Dickerson Collins-Camargo and Martin-Galijatovic 2012). The goals objectives and purpose of the diversion program need to be the force behind the picking of the target population who in this case are the adolescents. Once described a written policy must be established which highlights the determined population the criteria employed in assessing youth throughout the process of referral as well as the agency or person accountable for evaluating the youth consistent with the criteria. Adolescent court roles would be (Davidson & Basta 2014). The kind of diversion program under implementation would determine which personnel or staff members would require to be trained.
