Dystopia and Reality Outline Introduction Fahrenheit depicts a world in which the government is in control and its citizens are not allowed to learn or think. Thesis Statement: a critical analysis of how far the negative tendencies of Fahrenheit451 have come true. People in the present society have become obsessed with technology that they fail to form true social relationships. An example is where Montag gets home and is unable to share his experiences with his wife Mildred who has the seashell radio on her ears (Bradbury 42). This is also a present society where people are addicted to Facebook and phones. The present system enforces censorship such as on the media. “Any man’s insane who thinks he can fool the Government and us” (Bradbury 46). The coverage of events of live of this imaginary society prefer watching the police hunt down criminals live on TV instead of seeking information on the longstanding war taking place in some unnamed country (Bradbury 47). This is similar to the present government where coverage of live media events is seen as good for the critics of media columns today. Conclusion In conclusion it is imperative to understand that some of the features of the dystopian society have come to pass in the present world. Addiction to technology is prevalent in the society it has even degraded social relationships. Media censorship is another feature which is evident in the present society.
